It’s a bit of a tangent, but this made me think of the Australian baby bonus - you get $5000 per baby you have. Really. And the number one thing people buy with their baby bonus? Plasma screen television sets. Really. If this was funny I would laugh.

* Sidenote: I didn’t get paid a cent for either of my kids (pre-baby bonus babies), but they have been totally, totally worth the work …
