Every piece of furniture shifted, dusted, done over (even the dust bunnies under the bed binned); cushions banged, pillows pounded and plumped; found things, special things, and all the (millions of) bits and pieces of treasure brushed off; glass, frames and pictures vinegared and glossy again; floor swept and mopped, all of it; linen closet emptied, refolded, refilled; four loads of washing done...
